Morning Prayers

AS YOU PREPARE FOR YOUR DAY

At awakening in the morning say: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
O my God, my only good, the Author of my being and my last end, I give Thee my heart. Praise, honor and glory be to Thee forever. Amen.

At rising up, say: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
I will raise myself up from this bed of sleep, to adore my God, and to labor for the salvation of my soul. Oh, may I rise on the last day unto life everlasting. Amen.

When clothed, kneel down and say: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Blessed by the holy and undivided Trinity, now and forevemore. Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts! The earth is full of Thy Glory. Glory be to the Father: Glory be to the Son: Glory be to the Holy Spirit. Amen.

AN ACT OF ADORATION

O great God, the Sovereign Lord of heaven and earth, I prostrate myself before Thee. WIth all the Angels and Saints I adore Thee. I acknowledge Thee to be my Creator and Sovereign Lord, my first beginning and last end. I render to Thee the homage of my being and life. I submit myself to Thy holy will; and I devote myself to Thy divine service, this day and forever. I wish and purpose to gain today all the indulgences which it is possible for me to gain. Amen.

MORNING OFFERING TO THE SACRED HEART

O Lord Jesus Christ, in union with that divine intention with which Thou, whilst on earth, didst give praise to God through Thy most sacred Heart, and still dost continue ti give praise to Him in the Sacrament of the Eucharist everywhere, even unto the consummation of the world, I wishing to imitate the most sacred Heart of the ever immaculate Virgin Mary, most willingly offer to Thee during this whole day, not excepting the smallest part therefrom, all my intentions and thoughts, all my affections and desires, all my words and actions. Amen.

AN ACT OF FAITH

O my God, I firmly believe all the truths which the holy Catholic Church teaches because Thou have revealed them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived. Amen.

AN ACT OF HOPE

O my God, relying upon Thy infinite goodnesses and promises, I hope to obtain pardon from my sins, the help of Thy grace and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen.

AN ACT OF LOVE

O my God! I love Thee above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because Thou art all good and deserving of all my love. I love my neighrbor as myself for the love of Thee. I forgive all who have injured me, and ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Amen.

AN ACT OF CHARITY

O my God, I love Thee above all things with my whole heart and soul, purely because Thou art infinitely perfect and deserving of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of Thee. I forgive all who have injured me, and ash pardon of all whol I have injured. Amen.

ACT OF CONTRITION

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all sins because of Thy just punishment, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, who art all goo and deserving of all my love. I firmly resovle, by the help of Thy grace, to sin no more and to avoid the nea occasions of sin. Amen.
